I see it quite the failure if it sells with reference coolers only. I saw EK R9 series waterblocks mentioned here on OCN though?
I have no info on the VRMs too. Anybody care to elaborate on that?
Like no one is going to have proprietary designs? That statement makes no sense. Heat output will be similar to,oh I would say 250w? Just a guess?
I brain farted a little, I meant stock* coolers.

Those stock clocks are surprising, though. In a very positive way. Might have enough headroom to take on the GK110. The question still remains: is there TDP headroom, even if there is OC headroom? With only reference cards available, the PCB and the cooler might be holding Hawaii down if it's running against the TDP limit already at stock.
My post was concerning overclocking. This is 250W as you say, but at stock (800MHz) GPU speed. I'd imagine issues occurring due to thermal limit when OC'ing.
And I would definitely like to see a Gigabyte WindForce cooler slapped on top of that card, if not a waterblock. (This is just an example because my 680 is kept at 60o
C core @ 1293MHz with fan speeds of 50% and an estimate of 300W power draw - 66% of TDP reported with a TDP of 450W)Edited by fragamemnon - 10/1/13 at 12:50am
