Used space vs. REAL used space different?

:band:So if I open my C: drive properties it says I'm using 77.6GB of space.

If I highlight all the files on my C: drive it only shows 64.6GB used. Yes, I do have hidden files and protected system files showing as disabled Hibernation, have my page file to 1GB, and have ran Disk Cleanup and CCleaner.

Where is my 13GB of space at? band.gif

Hibernation and system standby

Go run powercfg -h off and you should recoup it.

EDIT just saw you disabled it, disable system restore http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/turn-system-restore-on-or-off

It's probably all in your sysvol folder or something

I had the theory it might be Adminstrator account vs. normal user account and the file explorer not being allowed to look into some of the sub-folders, so not finding all files. But testing this shows no difference for me (I right-clicked on explorer.exe in the Windows folder and chose "run as administrator").

Perhaps it's a system restore point saving old versions of files:

Got it! Origin was installing games in my Program Files but it wasn't being picked up for some reason. Problem solved.

All steps above where done. No n00b here! LOL! thumb.gif

Yeah but we don't know that do we, we have to go to the most basic and simple fixes before going to something more complicated.
