Well, its carbon. They probably managed to use that free electron every graphene atoms had to make that material.
Its made of carbon and it doesn't have the structure of graphene (sp2)- it is a theoretically infinite chain of C (sp). And so far the longest made in solution is 44 carbon chain as reported in this paper if anyone cares to read (http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1308/1308.2258.pdf
). Assuming 150 pm for longest C-C bond that gives so far 6600 pm 6.6x10-7 cm (or 6.6 nm).. which is still very far form big applications. Good start though
As for it being computational data - it would be nice to see the results on actual material.
