Thread Starter
Well my acer V3-571g-9683 came with windows 8 and i wasn't too happy with it so i changed it to windows 7. Well Now i kinda want to go back to windows 8 on my laptop just so i can give it a try (first time i only gave it abotu 10 mins before i switched). I bought it new and it didnt come with a recovery disk. So where do i go to reset my whole laptop to factory settings so i can get windows 8 back.

Watch this vid and see if that works for you. Normally all factory laptops have a hidden recovery partion so this just needs to be accessed to get ti started.

I agree with this you have the Win 8 key Sticker on it? Maybe you know someone who can give you a copy of the same version of OS and use your legitimate key if above doesn't work.

Also you may want:

Worse case is to ring Acer Support and say your kid brother got a massive Virus Infection on the PC and you need to do a reinstall........they are normally very helpful.

From what I was reading the onus was on the owner to make a "recovery disk" that did access the recovery partition for a rebuild.

When you installed Windows 7 did you keep the recovery partition or did you completely reformat the entire drive? If you kept the recovery partition you should just be able to boot to it and go through the wizard. If you wiped it all you may be in for some headaches. This is where "RTFM" comes in lol. Always make a backup of the recovery files AND keep the recovery partition.

Go here and download the manual: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Exactly. If the recovery partition was wiped during a complete drive reformat and he did not make backup discs, he has no Windows 8 recovery and would need to contact Acer and see if they have options for him.
