But im hanging on with baited breath to see how yours turns out.
Also loving the idea about putting in a peep hole like that.... cant wait to see the finished product there.
So far looking very nice with the black interior.thumb.gif

Are you going to go with 2 360 rads as well as a cheeky 120?

Yep, ST-30 on the roof and an XT-45 in the front...but no cheeky 120. I have more pics in the build log

Given the rise in temps, I'm tempted to take my front cover to a local laser cutter to get some diagonal vents down the front of the case.

Lose the padding and insert some black mesh

Something like this but with the vents continued for the full length of the cover (couldn't be bothered to finishing editing the pic lol)

Thoughts?

Really digging it actually. I've been thinking of how I'd mod the front also, what kind of pattern or mesh or even fairly transparent acrylics to use. So it's great to see someone else trying something out too. Your line design actually looks fitting to the style! Much better than what I thought of.

That inspired this idea (sorry I am TERRIBLE with photo-editing):

I love that look. I was thinking along the same lines for loosing the sound material, but following the entire outline of the face with a 1+ inch boarder and the entire rest would be mesh...max air, looks...so-so. I like yours better...maybe making the cutouts the same size as the side vents?

I'm old school though...If I can't do it with a dremel or saw...I'm outta luck. Laser cutting, sweet but $$$

I'm thinking of keeping the vents a bit smaller in width than the side vents.

A larger width might detract from the styling in my opinion.

Gonna see if I can get some prices this week and if it's not too bad might get it done asap smile.gif

What about less vents but larger openings...keep the visual about the same size as the surrounding black molding?

Looking forward to that. This would also go well to match the design on the top. I really would like to know the cost of the laser cutter...

Ooooh you typed that right when I edited by post! =D
Also just realized, instead of smooth rounds ends, they should follow the top & side motif with slanted straight edges.

Seriously thanks BlockLIke, the solution was so simple yet brilliant, my ideas were starting to look really cheesy.

BTW, see if your city has a hackerspace. The place I go to with my buddy has two laser cutters, just gotta be a member to use them. Maybe you can pay a member, if there is a place, to do it for you (possibly cheaper alternative).
