The Black Box

Many months ago I said I was going to make the DIYPC V3Plus-B my new mini-itx case of choice. I really wanted a low-profile, super-light LAN PC that fit an extreme budget and can still play just about everything on ultra. Well, I finally got around to doing it and I still haven't seen any other builds for this case. I must say that this is one of the best cases I've ever worked with.
For a case that has no fans, it stays really, really cool, which may be partly due to me having an ivy bridge pentium. These newer Pentiums are seriously underrated.

I was pleased to find that both the side and the bottom panel could be removed which made the entire assembly far easier than I thought it was going to be.
The smaller size of this case comes at the price of no dvd drive bay, few hard drive bay slots, no option for a giant cpu cooler, and very little room for a video card.
I used a full sized ATX power supply in mine, but I would strongly suggest getting a fully modular one because everytime you want to work on the inside you have to take the power supply out.
But this case is perfect for someone like me with a 15.6 inch monitor and a SSD.

And some shots so you can really see how small this thing is.

That's really all I have. I'm not a very descriptive or organized writer and I like to keep things simple, like my PC build. Everything, including the monitor was build for the purpose of being small, lightweight, efficient, but still fairly powerful.
I would also recommend this case to any first time builders as it's really easy to assemble compared to some other itx cases out there.
See you at Dreamhack come winter.

You could fit a gtx 660ti in there I'm thinking, but nice build smile.gif

Nice box! thumb.gif
Reminds me a lot of the Lian-Li PC-Q03B I just build. Dimensions are indeed almost identical.
Looking at the side panel of this DV3Plus-B, the GPU should be better ventilated compared to the Lian-Li.

PS: How did you get that image with all your hardware listed?

Such a small case. I find it amazing how you fit everything in there. Great little build Fightar. Just curious, how much do you think it weighs all together...couple pounds? thumb.gif

Ha, I didn't even see this thread. I've had mine for almost 2 months and I love it aside from the lack of air flow stock. IDK what the TDP of the pentiums are but my ivy 3550 got pretty hot during summer with the stock cooler and no fan at the bottom. I put a 120mm on the bottom where the HD goes since I have an mSATA SDD that goes into the back of the motherboard. I'm planning on getting an AXP-200 as it's perfect for this case. I also might switch back to PC gaming and put a GTX 760 mini in it but idk if that will run BF4 smooth on a 1440 monitor.

I would say it weighs as much as a big laptop. And the majority of the weight is just from the bulky power supply I have, which I plan on replacing in the next few months.

These newer pentiums have got to be the single most cost efficient and cool cpu's out there right now. A 3.1ghz cpu stuffed into a tiny box, surrounded by cables, and put on a stock cooler and I've never seen the temps go above 47 C even on load.
