[EA] Battlefield 4 beta LIVE - Page 17

Hate to say it, but after installing Windows 8.1, (and NV beta drivers as suggested) on a spare SSD the game plays smooth as silk. Was pretty laggy on W7, but now much improved.
On W8 med settings getting min 60-90fps. With W7 was as low as 24-60 and laggy as fawk.

Much more enjoyable and playable.

I thought BF3 was just average. After playing this beta, BF3 starts to look like a masterpiece..

It's already started. History will repeat itself once again!

I don't know what it is, but game is not right. Frame dips, stuttering, glittches, crashes. Like you said, this should have been worked on during alpha.

Anyone have any idea why you cannot go to BF4 file properties and disable visual themes and desktop composition? So you can get performance increased without having anything running? Is there an alternative besides having to force disabling Windows 7 Aeros or is that the only option ?

I notice strange behavior with the game while playing. I have an EVGA 560TI Classified and i know it's just a beta and it got me thinking i wonder if the finale will require a bigger better video card?

Can tell they really pushed the performance a bit with the engine. What exactly did they do to it? I notice a huge impact on performance compared to BF3 and BF3.

Do you think i am required to upgrade or is there a work around?

Frostbite 3.0 looks demanding possible so my only theory is that they are gonna be high requirements unless i am wrong cuz it's just a beta.

Have you tried using Razer game booster? I read it automatically focuses the pc resources to the game, by disabling drivers and applications running in the background. I haven't tried it myself but, figure you might be interested.

Well i ain't a fan of that booster cuz i hear they rake in data and information while gaming and i dislike that. I hear more things about Razer Booster but i'll look into it. That's a good idea.

Do you guys with NV use the latest beta drivers? B/c they caused me all the problems you described. Stuttering, CPU being 100% used having lower frame-rate. All was fixed when I reversed to the latest WHQL drivers

You probably played on Ultra textures etc without disabling Aero and hit your vram limit.
