BF2 disconnection issue, NEED HELP!!!

Thread Starter
I have no problem opening the game, connecting to a server is ok as well but it seems everytime I get into a server and start getting into it it disconnects me back to the server list and says check your network connection. ITs not crashing to desktop or giving me a punkbuster error, just says there is a problem with your connection, connection lost. Seems almost 5 minutes into every game its like clockwork and it drops. I usually get 1-2 discons per game. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have 1.41 patch install, I have special forces as well. I even added the ports to my router and I use a WRT300N linksys router. If that gives you guys any clue as to where I stand on this problem. Its really getting annoying though.

Could you be more specific on what I need to do after I go into the registry editor?

Do this...

Start Menu > Run > Regedit > Local Machine > Software

Once in the software section locate any BF2 or EA related files, check for duplicates and delete them.

The best thing to do would be to uninstall the game, restart then check the registry, follow the above but delete any leftover files then restart an reinstall.

Nope, there are no duplicates. I think I have it solved now so far 2 full games and no discons. Went into task manager and turned off one of the cpu's/ Not sure why that would cause a issue with connections but leave it to EA. Just wish a good programming team would either come on board for them or someone better would just buy them out. I hate EA with a passion, I dont think Ive ever had a EA game that ran flawlessly.

I still have this issue every now and then but setting the cpu affinity seems to help a great deal.
