Thread Starter
Well there are a couple reasons as to why I don't want the k.

First if i overclock at all, ill have increased heat in an already hot mini-itx case with a 760.

Second the prodigy with non low profile ram means i cannot use bigger heat sinks like 212, DH-14 or a hybrid water cooling solution as there aren't a lot of options for better airflow. I want to keep the prodigy for the small form factor to fit in my living room and not be an eye sore. If size didn't matter I would have picked out a 900D.

I have no intentions of overclocking, so me getting the 4670K is a waste of money for an unlocked core i will never utilize.

Maybe eventually Ill mod the prodigy to be a full watercooled rig and upgrade then, but for now (& for the next few years) I don't need the K version.

EDIT: The only way I would consider getting the K version if i had plans from the get go to go full watercooled mini-itx. Dont get me wrong, it has crossed my mind, but this is a rig that is being built for the sole purpose of being an alternate Xi3 Piston.

If the samsung wonder ram was easily available i would consider getting it and cool it with a top quality HSF. But for now I dont see me needing to overclock.
