[Anand] State of Cheating in Android Benchmarks - Page 12

Love all the ignorant information. Blackberry is dead. Their last effort was a massive fail. They just don't have the Eco system or app support like ios and android. Even window's phones are struggling.

Calling iOS boring is your personal opinion. Opinion does not equal fact. Something you guys need to learn.

Here's some things that are not opinion but fact. IOS has faster response time with the touch panels. IOS brought multi path TCP. Android does not. Ios offers faster web viewing than 99% of android devices. Both have their ups and downs, failure to see this just proves ignorance on your part.

Speaking mostly to the two trolls that make us android users look bad. But keep ignoring these points I know you got nothing to say.

Blackberry aren't dead, their balls have just rescinded inside their body and they've fled the market. Probably a very wise move. They have plenty going on in the Enterprise markets. It's time for them to lick their wounds for a while and figure out how to be profitable again.

I don't see why this concept is hard to grasp. (No offense) But if the cpu was like Intel speedstep then no it would not be considered cheating. However it was programmed in the code to ONLY do this in benchmarks. Hence a person will look at this thinking its "X" amount faster in games and apps compared to their old phone, yet when they purchase it the performance is better but not what they expected from benchmark reviews. If the CPU did this in multiple apps other than the predefined benchs, then i would agree no big deal, but that's not what they did.

That would be like buying a GPU "A" based on benchmarks showing how it smashed a GPU "B"in haven, or firestorm, then having it perform roughly the same or worse in real gaming. People would be pissed. Yet because its Android/Samsung they get a pass, like everything is all legit? The hypocrisy is astonishing at times on OCN.

Dude. It does NOT only do this in benchmarks. Why does everyone keep thinking this? Not going to go back once more to quote what I said, especially not on mobile.

That's... actually exactly what they did... lol

Sensationalist article is sensationalist.

So the CPU and GPU ramping up to their rated stock speeds automatically in a benchmark is cheating? How many points do you think they actually gain by doing that? A handful at best, it's just cutting out the ramp up time, which isn't very long really.

I thought they were actually cheating, by having the hardware overclock in benchmarks or something. But no, apparently running your hardware at stock speeds is cheating if it doesn't started underclocked.

Also, hooray for another Apple vs Android thread /sarcasm

I'm sure if this happened to Apple, yeah there would be a few Android fanbois ripping them apart, but I for one just call them like I see them. I can honestly say if the tables were turned that I would be sticking up for Apple.

Either way, nobody cheated, this is just another site looking for hits.
