I'd still go with the K version of that i5 (IVY BRIDGE) which will allow you to overclock your cpu and increase its performance and lifespan before you need to upgrade.
Yes
3570k it is. I really wanted to get haswell [4670] but I dont know if the $50 increase in total of cpu + mobo will be worth it.

Yeah I think this might be a case of very poor optimization. I mean the next gen consoles are not even close to those specs. Yeah they don't care much about us when it comes to optimization. Nothing in that game that I've seen has made me think that it would need all those specs to run well.

Now if this was Witcher, I might agree but WATCHDOGS? no, not even close

Remember also that while the recommended for 'mAX' settings on PC are high, the next-gen console version of Watch Dogs will look no where near as good (as the PC) and it will also be 720p @30 FPS (confirmed by devs already for both x1/ps4).

Good excuse for an upgrade. One of the few games I actually want to play. This, GTA 5, AC: Blackflag, The Crew and BF4.

I'm sorry but what. Did they just look at price ranges or something?
Kinda depends on what compiler they use shall we start throwing optimized linux benchmakrs into the discussion.
AMD even states in their server optimization guide for Interlagos that Intel's compiler will cripple AMD processors.

Ontopic
Those specs are a bit exagerated but better be safe than sorry and have people with gt8400's and 3870's whine about not being able to play it.

Pease guys. stop discussing this. There's no point. These system requirements are fake. Already said that before.

THEY ARE LYING.... Period.

My 16GBs of RAM and my Two 580GTXs will eat this game alive. BTW my cards are the nice 3GB ones too. I love how they think the newer CPUs completely demolish a 2600k when they are nearly the same thing and only consume less power.

Don't get played fellas, you are smarter than this! While you are at it look at the Max Payne 3 system requirements!
