Nvidia GTX 660ti HDMI Audio..I cannot get 5.1 for gaming or testing. Works with some movies.

Hello!
So after going with a tri sli setup, I cannot use my x-fi prelude.
I am trying to find a way to get 5.1 audio but is driving me insane.

First I found out the Realtek built in sound will not do games in 5.1 so that was no option.
So I got a HDMI cable to connect to my receiver and I cannot get this to show the 5.1 speakers.
Like I go to the Windows Control Panel and change it to 5.1 but my receive never notices the change. I played a few movies and on some I did get 5.1 but from windows is just no go.
Could be it a Windows settings issue or maybe my Harman Kardon avr247 is lacking something (firmware update etc).
Just going crazy with this :/

Thanks!

PS I just realized this receive has 8 channel input (some how I always thought only my main HK receiver on my HT room had that), so I may just go with the realtek analog outputs if I have no other choice.

My Search-Fu is strong as always:

So that it will get trolled by the google bots... let me say:

The Nvidia HD Audio driver may at some point completely **** up your surround sound. If this happens, try the following:

1. Pull out some hair.
1a. Uninstall JUST the Nvidia Audio Driver.
1b. See if you now have surround sound. If so, proceed to step 2. If not, then proceed to step 2.
2. Uninstall ALL Nvidia drivers.
3. Run Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode ONE time. Do not do it more than once.
4. Reinstall the Nvidia Drivers. Yes, the same ones you JUST uninstalled.
5. Test Surround Sound again. If it's still not working, uninstall just the Nvidia Audio Driver again. Test surround sound. You should, according to my experience, now have Surround Sound again.

If after following all of the above, you still don't have surround sound, sell PC on ebay or to someone else on your respective forum if it's not HDF, and use the proceeds to buy a 360 or PS3 or one of those newfangled Wii U things.

Oh. And be sure you create a restore point prior to doing ANY driver installs. This is especially necessary if your system is already working exactly the way you expect and want, and then go and do something stupid like install a new driver for your GPU.

Another thing to try, go into device manager and disable audio on the 2nd and 3rd cards.
