Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3P vs GA-Z87X-DH3

Thread Starter
It's finally October so I will be buying parts for my new build next week. I'm still not decided on the motherboard, though.

Before we get started, here is my build for reference: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1y3mz
Ignore the motherboard that's saved there. I just tossed something on the list a while back for completeness.

I've been looking around and I really like what I'm reading with these two Gigabyte boards. There's a minor price difference between the two but what's really making the decision tough for me is that one board is available locally at Microcenter and the other is not, so I will have to order it and wait for it to be shipped.

GA-Z87-D3P is available at Microcenter for $135. That's bit more expensive than online stores, but having it in hand right away is worth the small difference to me.

GA-Z87X-DH3 isn't available locally but it's also $135 through Amazon.

I don't plan on any extreme OC, just 4.2GHz or 4.3GHz so I don't think that will be much of a factor. From what I've read, the only real benefit the DH3 has over the D3P is better power distro. The only other difference that I can see is some extra PCIe slots on the DH3 but that doesn't really even matter since I'm not going to be doing SLI.

The question then becomes, is it worth going after the DH3 and having to wait for shipping? I do have an Amazon Prime account, so it wouldn't really take that long for it to ship.

What do you think?

Thanks,
~Darxide

for the same price why wouldn't you take the better board? The overall quality of the D3H is higher and will make that board last longer.
