Looking for mobo for i5 2500k

Thread Starter

Hi Guys,

As the title says..I'm looking to reduce the footprint of my entire rig and replacing my Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 and putting all my sig-rig components I have into a Fractal Design Arc MINI R2 when it comes out.

I've been looking everywhere for a MaximusV Gene (new/used) here in Toronto but so far no luck.

Any suggestions to a good matx motherboard that can handle an OC of 4.5Ghz and can handle at least 1.45v (or 1.5v) on the core?

Cheers,

Cram

I'd recommend the AsRock Z77 EXTREME6 or for something less feature-rich, the ASUS P8Z77-V is a great option.

Thanks for the recommendation but I'm looking for a mATX motherboard.

Looking at the gigabyte Sniper M3...I wonder why it only has a 4pin 12v ATX connector compared to the Maximus V Gene which has 8 pins...any thoughts on the comparison between the 2?
