I'm about to Crossfire. - Page 2

kind of, its gonna get less air. Are you running two of the same model? like both reference or aftermarket coolers or are they mismatched?

Also i would try maybe swapping the cards to see if you get the same temps.

They are both the same, just one is a different revision than the other which has a totally different cooling setup than the other. mad.gif
I was thinking the same thing you were however. I might have to move them. Would have liked to keep the newer revision at the top but maybe might have to put the newer card instead at the top. Just found the fan control for my case (after having it for over a year doh.gif ) so I'll see what the extra cooling the case has now will provide.

I'm gonna reserve my heat opinions until after this unseasonably hot weather passes by. It just occurred to me that It's been very hot these past couple of days and I haven't had the air-conditioner on. Even during the previous hot days I had the AC running. So I'll see how it goes. Preliminary numbers with upping the case fans and just now turning AC on (it'll take a while before that has any effect since it now has to remove all this heat) I'm already seeing something like a 7-10 degree decrease. But the top card is still running a bit higher than the lower.

3) My primary GPU seems to be running hotter than usual, don't know what that's about. Might have to check some settings

But overall I'm impressed. It's running way better in rFactor 2 than I expected as I've heard stories of it not doing so well for some while great for others. Silverstone track is still a dog at points. I can go from well over 100fps down to 30 depending on the section of the track.

Now to decide which two freebie games I'll use with the free game offer.

Care to share what games didn't perform to your expectations?

ProjectCars for one. But I was expecting that. Crossfire/SLI is bad in that game, if it's even working for anyone.
rFactor2 is hit or miss. Some tracks are biggrin.gifthumb.gifbiggrin.gifthumb.gif and some not so much.

Farcry 3 really puts a hurt on the cards with the goodies cranked up. I think all that grass and light effects really work a card. But DAMN that game looks beautiful.

I swapped cards and it seems to have made the difference. Now they both are running just about the exact same temp and that's while playing. Haven't put a hurt on either of them yet to see but they are running the same temps. And the first one is much lower than before. Wonder if it was a seating issue or something. Who knows. Gonna push'em a little hard and see what results I get.
