Topre switches - Page 2

Thread Starter
I've tried Blues, Browns and Blacks (all for a substantial amount of time). I absolutely despise Blues/Browns -- they are just not for me. I somewhat like Blacks but even if they were lighter, I still don't think I would use that type of switch full time. There's just something about Cherry actuation and lack of smoothness (at least to me) that my fingers don't like.

As I said in the OP, I really want a smooth and crisp rubber dome. The Lenovo KU-0255 keyboard is the only one I have ever experienced this on but the feeling goes away after about a month of use, so I constantly have to buy them.

Anyways, I'm definitely going to try a Topre. Just need to figure out which one: 45g, 55g, or variable. I don't mind paying a premium for a Realforce over the Type Heaven because that KB is already $150 and I'm spending that much I might as well get the "better" Topre.

I like Greens, they're essentially the perfect combination of Blues and Browns and Blacks, for me at leas. High actuation force ffor high key ret urn speed, but also tactile.

I use a realforce 87u silent, and I like the variable keys. It's really mostly only 30g to 45g as the 55g is only the escape key, if I'm not mistaken. The first month took a little getting used to the 30g keys as I would accidentally hit them while my fingers laid on the keyboard. After some regular use though, it's no longer an issue. My WPM have increased and the strain I use to feel in my fingers from typing has pretty much disappeared. Enjoy your new board! thumb.gif
