Random Crashes/Gitches

Thread Starter
So I have been having some issues with my system. The biggest issue was crashing during games which I thought was GPU related so I RMA'd my 7950 but after about a week I have continued to have the same issues and same crashes.

The next issue are random system hangs, they usually arent too bad but something around 3-5 seconds randomly while just playing music and browsing the internet. But they are indeed still there.

As mentioned above I just RMA'd the GPU and I ran multiple runs of Memtest with no issues so I feel safe ruling out the RAM.

I do have an overclock on my Phenom II 965 but when I did it I was able to Burntest and Prime95 without a crash. So I dont think its the overclock.

I do think the issue is somewhere in either my CPU or Motherboard but was looking for some advice before I just start buying new parts.

Side question, 8320 or 8350...devil-smiley-019.gif

it still could be your overclock, or even your psu or possibly the UD3 you are using. Id recommend speaking with UD3 owners in the club in my signature see what sort of answers they may have. Which revision ud3 do you have? More load hits the whole system during gaming its both cpu and gpu at the same time. This puts a bigger strain on your psu which could also be the problem. Have you tried running OCCT on PSU and checking if a heavy load on cpu + gpu kills the system? Also monitoring your vcore if you have LLC on your mobo this can cause instabilities that dont appear right away. Better to be at the lowest LLC setting that works properly that you can.

Sorry for the confusing post ill try to help more later but im working. Number of possibilities though

side answer: 8350 if its close to the same price, otherwise you will wonder what could have been tongue.gif. They will bench the exact same at the same clocks but a 8350 will require less volts therefore can be pushed further. both great choices though
