GEFORCE GTX logo colour change on Titan

Thread Starter
Has anyone had any success changing the green Geforce logo to another colour? By the looks of the coating it's painted on, just want to get an idea of my options before I start pulling the card apart.

The card is in a black and red tower with white lighting and the green is very much out of place. You can see the build here.

Any info appreciated!

Cheers,
Sam

======= le edit. ======

Success.

It's not really blue at all, just the phone pic and poor lighting make it look that way.

Tools required:

Allen keys: 1.5mm and 2mm
Small Philips head screwdriver
Fine sandpaper (I used 400 grit)
Flat sanding block (I used a faulty iPhone screen, hahaha)
Patience and attention to detail.

OK yesterday we disassembled the card enough to get the logo section out, pretty much only had to remove dress panels - the heatsink remains untouched.

The panel itself is a LED backlit white-ish rubber, with black paint over most of it and green paint for the GEFORCE GTX logo. I'm going to experiment with a couple of different ways to remove the green without disturbing too much of the black. Photos to come later on.

Subbed out of curiosity.

Tried doing this a good while back in my build log. As far as I can see, the rubber isn't painted, but dyed with UV dye. I have pics of the logo taken all the way down, as I was trying to get it to be red instead.

Just for you guys I'll put some disassembly pics up now smile.gif

The build itself can be found here.

Paint vs dye: whatever it is, it scratches off the surface of the rubber smile.gif

Oh does it now.. I didn't want to try for fear of doing something I couldn't take back. Looks like red titan is a go again.

Bloody excellent. smile.gif. +rep to you sir.

Hahaha thanks guys - yeah trust me to jump into the deep end with something I've no idea about... and possibly void warranty on a $1250 card! Although I think Palit would probably still honour it since the heatsink hasn't been removed at all.

Seriously though I'm pretty determined to end up with a good result here so it's going to get some brainstorming!

I'd say scratch the green off the surface with a razor blade, then dunk the the logo face down into some food dye

Or paint the logo with uv reactive paint and find a blacklight
