Has anyone had any success changing the green Geforce logo to another colour? By the looks of the coating it's painted on, just want to get an idea of my options before I start pulling the card apart.
The card is in a black and red tower with white lighting and the green is very much out of place. You can see the build here.
Any info appreciated!
Cheers,
Sam

Success.
It's not really blue at all, just the phone pic and poor lighting make it look that way.
Tools required:
Allen keys: 1.5mm and 2mm
Small Philips head screwdriver
Fine sandpaper (I used 400 grit)
Flat sanding block (I used a faulty iPhone screen, hahaha)
Patience and attention to detail.
OK yesterday we disassembled the card enough to get the logo section out, pretty much only had to remove dress panels - the heatsink remains untouched.
The panel itself is a LED backlit white-ish rubber, with black paint over most of it and green paint for the GEFORCE GTX logo. I'm going to experiment with a couple of different ways to remove the green without disturbing too much of the black. Photos to come later on.
Tried doing this a good while back in my build log. As far as I can see, the rubber isn't painted, but dyed with UV dye. I have pics of the logo taken all the way down, as I was trying to get it to be red instead.
Hahaha thanks guys - yeah trust me to jump into the deep end with something I've no idea about... and possibly void warranty on a $1250 card! Although I think Palit would probably still honour it since the heatsink hasn't been removed at all.
Seriously though I'm pretty determined to end up with a good result here so it's going to get some brainstorming!
Careful sanding seems to be a good way to go about it......
Now to test it and see what sort of colour comes through - if it's white enough I'll probably leave it be, if not I'll look at coating it in .... something red. Or white. I'm not sure yet.
The green was never going to cut it for this build. Worst comes to worst it's getting hand painted red or white and the LED left disconnected if it looks bad with it on.
You are going to need as smallish Phillips, and if memory serves, a 1.5mm and 2mm hex head. (Might be 2 and 2.5, really can't recall) One thing to look out for, is the two small screws in the black fairing next to the ports. Its safer to assume you will strip them than not.
So, a small easy out might be handy to have on hand.
I believe I used a #6 torx screwdriver to install my ACX cooler which completely removed the lame green.
Might disassemble my logo from the stock cooler, re-color and use somewhere else.

Yes #6 for the back part but for the shroud I would need something more specific so I can at least save a few $ and just buy the specific screw driver types. Kits costs a lot of money in where I live.
I have the stock cooler removed and have the ACX cooler installed. I want to use the logo inside the case after I change the color. I'd have to take the ACX cooler back off to check the voltage, which It's not worth it.
waiting for the results man!
would be AMAZING if it was possible to actually do this, the only non red/black part in my rig is this :/
