Well, economics would disagree with you as something is worth only as much as people agree to exchange for it...but it's all about how much demand for starters. To me, mainstream music is not worth much and I don't waste time pirating it because of that. Hell, if I knew of places that actually did movies out of the mainstream that were as good as some of the stuff I've found on Bandcamp (not all of it is good) then I'd probably part with mainstream movies as well. I gave up pirating them as most of the high quality torrents get killed or no one seeded compared to the crapy massive compressed/low quality torrents. Honestly, mainstream movie companies could harm piracy if they came out with high quality and DRM free copies. Sadly, they won't.
