Thanks for the input all and feel free to add any more coments as I'll start the new setup for the gamer tonight but due to LACK of time I'll be playing with this for a few weeks by the time I finish the HTPC/Server also
just make sure to keep vcore as low as possible on the HTPC, nehalem can still run very cool with low~moderate volts, my 920 did 3.7 GHz on stock & 4 GHz at 1.312v which gave 81c with my true thats now on ivy bridge, uncore/memory multi can reduce temps slightly ie a 6x memory w/12x uncore gave 1-2c less than 8x/16x even at the same volts, small but was noticably repeatable.
or since you have a good 920 another option is to moderately overclock like to 3.6GHz & maybe even have an undervolt from stock for temps/power(920 DOES pull its power thats for sure) or even stock if thats fast enough for the max undervolt possible (most seem to cap at 0.80v).
