holy crap... that's an amazing price. i have 2 frys inside driving range. now i need to scrape up $150. that's crazy. I have the 7770 version of that line of msi products. it's been a champ. got it for 80 after rebates from frys... but that price... that's amazing.

It was so bad that I bought two to use at a future date should AMD get their head out of their collective butts and get the software straight for crossfire + eyefinity....although granted, I wont be using the stock coolers............... So to be clear.........its adequate for most people and can even keep the card from killing itself with a pretty good overclock, but it gets loud. And its one hell of a deal, even without the shiny pipes. Is that better? thumb.gif

The "you should feel bad" was obviously a joke. I have messed with the card as well though, Im not just going off something I read on the internet. Run GPUZ and see what your VRM temperatures are while your GPU is at 75C. If your card is able to maintain 60 degrees while being overclocked MSI must have installed a magic cooler or something. No one reports temperatures that low with this card, not even at stock clocks.

$200-220 is the going rate for a new HD7950 these days... with some outliers

Haven't had a chance to game much yet. I work graveyard shift so I had to go to bed shortly after getting everything put together tongue.gif

Idle temps of the gpu are good and load is about 70c. Still going to buy aftermarket though.

Are you sure that's going to be honored, I tried clicking the ad and the other ones work but this one links to "no product found"? They probably wanted to price the HD7850 for that judging by the page.

It does have a cheaper VRM (low rds rather than directfet + colitronics) and horrendous cooler compared to reference however:

http://www.itocp.com/htmls/47/n-3447-3.html

This is the shroud removed

EK says it's FC7950 waterblocks fit http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step1_complist?gpu_gpus=603

I wonder how long would these live under OC. If I slap a water block on them.

on a second thought, I wonder how long would these live under regular stock 7950 clocks. I'm thinking of swapping my 6950 crossfire (unlocked to 970) for two 7950. I plan on doing water with them, but if they fail under OC even with water? i'm skeptical.
