Oh yea i can figure its proble some (normally easy for ME to find setting like u are suggesting rolleyes.gif
But yea i understand the manufacter support. And i found a driver file supported from my audio cards manufacterer Drivers-section/website :3 Thats why this topic started about getting that workin.

Sadly it doesnt mad.gif

But het its proble something els.

Btw im listening music on youtube on the moment without any distortion.....
last post from you i checked out that Pavucontroll and i saw my videocard in it... so i figured , lets turn that off.
Oh and what is this.... lets turn that off too.

So ..... Edit:

I cant seem to get your code working in my terminal. it says it cannot find that command.

Eitherway im gonna turn those things back on and see if the distortion returns :3

I hope that works smile.gif Sound is easily the most confusing thing on Linux if you're coming from Windows, but once it's working it's relatively flawless.

Sounds good :3
I got to mention i found some reviews about Ubuntu / linux some guys where saying they heard multiple experiance reviews about having better sound in linux distros redface.gif

That got me realy exited to try it out actualy :3 Hence the dedicated sound card i have.
Mainly for gaming so i gotta check that stuff out aswell! Starting to even play games on my native resolution (1920x1080 ) rolleyes.gif

Edit: I just double checked it to be sure but that Jockey programma to helps u install extra drivers...
I used that to install 2 drivers , see if things changed :3

But now it just vanished from my Pc O.o
I checked software center and i the button that normaly says : install ,now says : Remove?

So something wierd going on there , but my point was that i installed Not-opensource drivers for my VGA card (i recall there was 1 game that told me my VGA drivers/card where not optimized and that would affect my games performance.

...and distortion sound is stil gone :3 so far , with turning those devices/things i turned off /on again. Maybe that didnt have any effect ?

Another Edit:

The problems are gone so far redface.gif im doing everything that normally gives error distortion or crashes....
Even setting the game resolutions is fine now.

Seems that its fixed :3

Now im gonna try installing World of warcraft on wine program loader to see how that goes. (I did not get far tongue.gif )

I have just been playing a couple of games Dota 2 and everything works great! (alto the other evening my front panel even lit up! all working and stuff :3 it was good then, but now :/

================================================

Update/Edit :

I found out while i was playing Killing Floor the sounds is slightly distorted with every sound in echo like listening to your microphone while its recording you sound played.

For me this problem occured in windows aswell , it was exactly that , a microphone i was listening too i could hear myself breath even tho i was muted for the rest in teamspeak/voicechat.

Time to fire up your terminal and alsamixer and see what the volumes are and cards are doing what. Someone with more knowledge should be able to help you through that.

Ye im not sure yet what alsamixer can do for me redface.gif
Im using that other program (forgot name) to turn devices on/of mute/unmute to search for changes...

And so far i got the distortion away , but the sound in-game is just delayed now!
( >.> So ye it feels like i removed the sound and only left over with the Echo.......)

Stil not starting about framerate (wich is worse then in windows) and i cant even find a simple program to monitor my FPS , like fraps.

Any suggestions would be awsome :3 i like to look around , im also starting to get more used to the terminal.
Its like a faster way to controll your system skipping the GUI of the OS biggrin.gif its kinda awsome thumb.gif!

Pulse Audio tends to piggy back off of Alsa, so if settings in Alsa are messed up then it'll affect the sound you hear from Pulse.

Welcome to the wonderful and confusing area of Linux only made more confusing by Lennart Poettering ( pulse audio, systemd, and many other recently adopted yet being hated by the community projects ).

What i have seen so far from Linux is better as/with its terminal , so i rather run a Terminal only enviroment like a server?

I already installed Ubuntu on this machine and everything works great out of the box , i think my gaming-PC i tried to configure with the help of you guys just does not want to work with linux....
(or at least the hardware inside it is not supported good enough by ubuntu)

So now i would like to try out Ubuntu Server 12.04 on this machine it is old but i hope it can run :3

Current hardware:

CPu: P4 2.8Ghz
Ram: 2gb DDR 400mhz
HDD: 80GB Western digital
Mobo: Asus p4p800 Deluxe

Video: ATi 9600 .... something :/ do i even need a videocard with a server OS?

I hope this server is gonna be a bit better for me to understand. or at least very learning experiance thumb.gif

Tips and Links to guides/tutorials are very much appriciated sinds im searching for guides everyday rolleyes.gif

That's more than enough to install 12.04 on. I actually have it installed on a bunch of old laptops right now, including a netbook. And an even older laptop (not sure how old but it doesn't have a wifi adapter so ya, pretty old).

Anyway put mutliple hard drives in there and learn LVM (or use img files if you don't want to use multiple hard drives), there's apache to learn, tmux is a good utility...oh and use SSH to administer the server. Just easier trust me.

I was just learning a bunch of stuff myself so it's fresh in my mind. Take lots of notes. I use google docs so the notes are easy to access from one PC to the next.

Thank i wil try that out thumb.gif

Do u happen to know to to uninstall Ubuntu from within windows?
That version of Ubuntu 13.04 i tried out last week was installed from a USB with WUBI to install inside windows
(was told prompt before the download i could just remove it the way u uninstall any software from windows)

Its not in the list redface.gif

And the Dual boot that shows up when i boot up my Pc is starting to get buggy....
For example, my keyboard does not recieve power from a Cold start, so everyday i want to boot up my pc i gotta reset it before i can actualy use my keyboard :/

Time is up for Ubuntu
