7950 Performance Off?

Hello all

I recently bought the HIS IceQ Boost Clock 7950.

However, my fps in CSGO is about 160 or so, Maxed.

Others are reporting 200+.

This is my 3D Mark Score, is this accurate?

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/1328239?

Thanks

EDIT: I also noticed my Maximum Turbo Clock is: 1,596 MHz
That can't be right?

Firestrike and other 3DMark benchmark apps scores are heavily influenced by the cpu. our gpu scores in fs is nearly identical but my overall score is higher by a few hundred points 'cause of my i7 at 4.5GHz.

Thanks for the input.

However I bought a 7970 at Frys today, and sure enough the increase in performance seems marginal.

Could it be my CPU or my PSU?

some synthetic benchmarks love cores (HT) just as some games. oc'ing can compensate these. the high IPC of the i5 (imo) shines when oc'ed. expect your physics score to shoot up once you oc your chip and this will bring your overall score higher and fps in most games.

here is a 7950 oc'ed to 7970GHz speeds with an oc'ed thuban . . .

with an i7 at 4.5, that same oc'ed 7950 will score 7300.
