Upgrade from H100 to XSPC Kit

Thread Starter
Hi. I am about to upgrade my CPU to a 4770K. After reading that Haswell chips do get quite hot, I was wondering if my current H100 was enough. Can anyone please advise me what changes in temperatures I will see between an H100 and this XSPC Kit (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-265-XS&groupid=962&catid=1532) ? Please note that I will be using the same Corsair SP120 fans on either cooler and I will be overclocking my 4770K as much as I can.

Thanks smile.gif

Thanks smile.gif Any idea how much more I can overclock the 4770K if it is running 10c lower ? From what I heard it runs at 4.7GHz on an H100.

Silicon lottery. It is rare that you get identical chips, and you might have a better or worse overclocker than others. The 10c will help, but don't expect your 4770k to reach 4.7GHz on a H100. You could try delidding to reduce temps further.

I second the delliding---I put my 3570k (I know ivy is not quite as hot as haswell) under water with a direct die mount, I dont see 60C at 5.0Ghz.
