The Galaxy Note 3 camera is a 13MP shooter which can record 1080p @ 60FPS and 4K @ 30FPS. This is the only smartphone camera that can capture 4K videos. Also the Galaxy Note 3 sports USB 3.0 which means you can fully charge it within minutes.

The only negative I can think of is the size (depends on the person).

If you want a small device, get the Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One. I would lean towards the Galaxy S4 considering how HTC One was plagued by build quality issues (although not sure if it is now). If you want a simpler device, iPhone 5 or 5S would do (but the 5S is a huge waste of money considering the only addition is the fingerprint sensor). The iPhone 5 has everything the iPhone 5S has minus the processor and fingerprint sensor.

Note 3's are cool and all, but you'd be hard pressed to find one less then $300
Maybe some of the older note 2's being sold on eBay would be around that figure

Works fine, actually. It's not my browser of choice on the desktop, but I've not had any problems with IE on WP8. I don't even think of them as the same thing; one of them is an x86 program running under desktop Windows, and the other is an app running on my phone's ARM processor. The only thing they really share is a name.

I know I am an HTC fanboy, but get the One, or the One MAX! I would say get the Butterfly S if you can, but you probably can't.

I have a Lumia 1020 and i LOVE IT! I have had apple, android, and win phone 8. The live tile customization is awesome, the camera quality is the best. You will need to dl a different audio player though ( the stock one sucks IMO) and you need to dl a different youtube (free) but it is overall a solid phone. Android felt like an overly complicated ios to me, I know that others will disagree. I love the phone, you can delete the pre-installed software and really customized a single screen to your hearts disre, you can even pin individual web pages that you frequent often )such as OCN) to the start screen easily. Adding songs and video is as easy as right clicking on the file and selecting "add to phone" you don't have to have any software to do it. And to top it off the phone itself feels like agreat quality, the samsung s3 I had fely cheap and plasticky, but that is just me. Every phone will have flaws, it all comes down to the ones that you can live with.

Yeah HTC would be a good brand to look into,
I have the HTC one X and have had it since launch day pretty much,
Its a good phone, but my only complaint is how hot it runs when your playing games or running and CPU or GPU intensive program, I played Max Payne for like 10 mins and the device was already around 45-50°C
never the less, Its relatively cheapish these days and you could pick one up for around the $300 figure

You guys are not making it any easier lol. I am still torn. Most of my music is from Amazon, I use their app for the most part, so I have no clue if that will work with the 1020. I know several of my friends (and my wife) have the S3 and its amazing what it can do vs my Vivid. I will say as a pro to my vivid...if I needed to throw it at someone, its a solid phone with some heft to it...so it would hurt....just saying.

I really love the idea of the notes, but since it would be in my pocket all the time, and I rarely want my current phone in my pocket so I doubt I would want bigger.

If you get the Note 3, make sure you get a watch with it. If not, the HTC One kicks its ass smile.gif

The biggest feature I love on my 1020 is the camera, I can even create collages of my son right on the phone. The phone also has software that allows you to adjust ever single aspect of a photo much like a real camera, if you take tons of pics and video than this is the phone that you should choose. In a month i shot 15 gb of my son, more than I have ever taken pics and video of him. This pic was taken in extreme low light, just about dark with my Lumia 1020.
