oc'ing i5 2500k to 4.5ghz

Thread Starter
i currently run my i5 2500k at 4.2 ghz at AUTO voltage. auto seems to give it about 1.312-1.320 volts, all i have changed with my overclock is change the multiplier to 42 from auto. i ran prime 95 for about 30 minutes, and temps peaked at 64 degrees, mostly running around the high 50's - low 60's. I am running a Corsair H60. I was wondering if i had any room to go higher, and if there was any way to lower the temperatures a bit. From my experience, prime 95 tends to push a cpu harder than any game would- usually by a difference of 5 degrees. (my cpu maxes at about 58 degrees playing BF3) so i am thinking maybe i can go to 4.5 degrees. Also, should i change the voltage from auto? idle temps seem to be in the mid to high 30's.

I would go to manual voltage and set it for what you have now, then bump up the multi to 43 and see if that boots, then run a short p95 test for stability, if it fails/freezes, go back and add one notch of vcore, it is passes go back and bump up the multi one and rinse repeat.
