Same problem, i have played most of the games from this century and now theres nothing new that get me siked but star citizen and the witcher 3.
The only thing that can keep me going is something competitive.

maybe play some indie games, sometimes im surprised like with botaniculum.

as for the headset, control panel sound settings or drivers if usb

You've overstimulated yourself and become desensitized to gaming. The only way to get back into it is to just stop for a while, and limit yourself once you get enjoyment from it again. As mentioned, you need to find another hobby so you have another, pleasurable outlet for your free time.

I thought I was getting bored with gaming too, but I realized I just only like a couple genres. I still haven't finished Bioshock because I get very bored, I can't get into games like Bastion or Borderlands 2, and even Fallout doesn't engage me. But I can play Battlefield for hours (in fact I just finished playing BF4 for about 3), and Skyrim really had be going when it came out too (I don't play as much anymore though, but I still play for a couple hours here and there).

Try out some new genres, see what tickles your fancy.

1) If you liked metro, you might like stalker too.. Similar kind of atmosphere but its a very different kind of game. Stalker has more open world and rpg elements. I've played metro2033 and stalker CoP, the stalker game was more engaging for me.

2) Sounds like you haven't done much multiplayer or coop gaming. Playing with others makes it a very different experience for me. The battlefield series is just an epic multiplayer game and highly competitive (intensely). I really like the farcry3 environment and coop gameplay. Coop is more easy going for me since i'm not going head to head with the others. Either way, adding other people to the mix makes things incredibly replayable in a way that singleplayer games can't come close to.

3) You said flightsim. Have you seen Star Citizen? Not exactly a flightsim, but looks like there are things that can be flown.

Maybe find a game with an atmosphere that is appealing to you and that has a significant multiplayer/coop component and give that a whirl.

I have the same issue, times I wont play games for 6 months and then suddenly get the urge to get back into games/comps. Get ur self a project, like go buy an old motorcycle for 300 bucks and restore it. Do something like that for a few months and it will come back.

That's oh so true. It kind of depends how much time you have left at the end of the day. If you're running around like a squirrel on coffee all day, there's not much stamina left afterwards to get into gaming.

Someone earlier suggested going overboard with skiing in winter so may I suggest something meditative for the other three seasons?

PS: yeah, that run was nuts. Seriously

There's a difference between being an adrenaline junky and just getting bored with one particular thing because you do it too much. All the extreme sport stuff is missing the mark here I think. He just needs to vary his free time rather than only game. No big deal.

I started Modding Using Mod-man its a program used to add add-ons for games like Lock-on Flaming Cliffs 2 ( I still havent bought part 3 yet ) But soon. Ive added diffrent planes, Textures, Better Cockpits, Real jet sounds and things of that nature..... You guys crack me up I know I can always ask for advice here and always get a Unique answer or something to put a smile on my face! I love the Ancient glider comment hahaha!

I got out of cars a few years ago, I was fixing-up a 1 gen DSM eagle talon, I was pushing for 600 whp with a John-Sheperd racing dog-gear transmission, all of a sudden something just hit me and I sold the whole project-Completly lost interest out of nowhere! Iam weird like that.

Maybe get into watching movies ? I missed so many movies in my life(I'm 15 but there's a lot of them) and now I enjoy watching them at weekends(school stole a nice chunk of my free time).

Plenty of good shows to watch.

I also haven't been gaming much, I have more more Civ 5 then all the other games combined over the last couple of months. BF4 has been pretty fun so far though.
