ASRock M3A780GXH/128M death

Thread Starter
Hello all. I faced with the issue of a dead ASRock M3A780GXH/128M board. I currently run three video cards and Phenom II X4 Black Edition. Further more I was thinking about purchasing this motherboard http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3947171&csid=_61 to replace my current board. I was wondering if anyone know if I would run into any problems with the board considering my CPU is a AM3 socket and the new board is a AM3+ board. Also, I am open to any other suggestions for other reasonably priced boards.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks.
Dorothy

Yes, AM3 CPUs will work in AM3+ boards, provided the BIOS allows for it. With that specific board, your CPU will work.

You're not going to have fun with three video cards though, the black slot is only an x4 link. For crossfire, you usually want at least an x8 electrical link on all of the cards. Let me see if I can dig up a board that supports that.

Price range and preferred purchase location?
