No doubt, used to work in a computer shop my self.
Always thought it was funny when the "pro's" came to teach me about computers and how good and secure their machine was.
740? That's not as much as many of my old clients, actually there was many with 100-1000 all the time. Record for me was 4750 malicious objects.
But the dude with that many, I had to copy all his internet favorites over to the new clean windows install. He had around 3500 pages of ONLY gayporn. No kidding.
And guess what? He had NO protection for his computer what so ever. I was shocked by this to say the least hehe..
Well it might be worth paying for proper security, but truly I have never had any problems in my later years, as I know what is safe to click or not usually. Very careful what I download etc.
Currently using Malwarebytes, Spybot and MSE. Has worked very well in the 3years I have run this combo. I also run Ghostery and Adblock plus in the browser, so I get no ads at all. Ads are known to spread viruses/malicious crap, so doesn't hurt to not get them. And hey, who likes a page full of ads anyways?
Impressive with the stats you posted there! Didn't know Kaspersky was that light. Just did a quick scan with MSE, used 12% of my cpu in sig, and around 65mb ram.
Also since you are using GF's laptop, remember you are a IT professional, you are just protecting her laptop Edited by go4life - 10/6/13 at 9:46am
