XMP is disabled. I am running 1333 memory at stock frequency and timings.

It looks like my heatsink was not as tightly secured to the motherboard as it should have been. After tightening the thumbscrews, playing the Battlefield 4 beta for about an hour only gets the processor up to 69 C using my OC profile of 4.1Ghz at stock voltage. But Prime95 still gets the processor cores up to 80 C after only ~5 minutes. The cores usually dip down to the mid-to-high 70s for most of the test, but occasionally jump over 80 C every few minutes.

De-lidding the processor looks a bit risky and is something I would only risk trying as a last resort.
