Sleeving a EVGA SuperNova 1300 Watt

Thread Starter
Guess this belong's here since it's about a PSU's. I have 1300 Watt Super Nova just got my sleeve from Nils. When to start prepping to sleeve my 24 pin and PCI-E cables and found these.

Little cap's on the wires, so not sure how go about sleeving them without making look weird. Can these be remove or what's the deal with them? Really hate to do ext since it's not true sleeving.

any help would be awesome.

From what I've gathered in the last 30 minutes
(didn't know anything about it, and it interested me for some strange reason)
they're probably decoupling capacitors and they're purpose is to reduce electrical whine/buzz and
help to maintain better voltage stability and improve ripple & noise performance.

Have a quick read HERE and HERE. Hope it helps thumb.gif

I'd personally leave 'em there to avoid instability IMO.

Ugh reading few post from your links, Even most say removing them is something a person can do, but they all say at the end might better to leaving them on. Luckly on my 900d i plan on having light mid plate to hide the Orignal cables but looks i may better off with exts. Sad Puppy

The fan is one of the loudest fans ever put in a PSU

And the voltage regulation is so lose thats its not very stable which is the last thing you want if you are going to overclock

The whole PSU was a rush job so all the problems where never fixed

Hardocp gave it a fail rating in their review of it

Documentation, what documentation?

The Handle to Nowhere.

Cables? Looks like I ordered birds nest soup!

Fan? I can’t hear you, can yell a little louder?

12v rail assignment? W.T.H.?

Oh the fan and the 12v rail assignment don’t work right from the factory? You want us to fix it ourselves in the software? That can’t be the right answer.

Oh the software isn’t included in the package I bought to fix it myself? Well at least it is easy to find, wait, does that say I have to register to get my product to work right?

Rail overboard! Rogue waves in the 3.3v rail.

Scotty, we need more power at 100v.

This power supply costs how much??????????????

Also its not made by EVGA if you did not know

The NEX1500 is older and is made by Etasis but was a rush job so its full of problems that could have been fix but never was

The G2 and P2 series are Super Flower Leadex units that have nothing in common with the FSP or Etasis made EVGA units so its far better

Dont want to sound rude or anything but you did make a poor choice

So yes doing research is something you should always do even if you think you know what its like
