Hey everyone,

Was recommended joining this site by a few friends just after starting my first rig. Just after a quick look around it seems like a great community and I am looking forward to being a part of it. I recently started my first rig, and if you'd like to see the parts I've chosen and maybe offer some advice you can take a look below.

I can't wait to start learning more about my new found hobby with this awesome community. Thanks for having me! biggrin.gif

looks like a very nice build, take the extra work to hide your cables while you build it, you will be much happier. cable management FTW

Thanks! The case is loaded with cable management loops so I'm expecting it to come together nice and clean.

Not bad, I'm not sure how much power the 7970 will take, but if you're ever consider overclocking your CPU, you might need a little more juice.

Honestly, the 7970 is like a placeholder part right now that helps me feel better about the overall price. I won't be buying the GPU for a while, and am hoping to eventually see some significant price drops on the 670s or 770s. I'm open to recommendations. Trying to find the best part for my money. Don't want to spend more than $300-$350.

If you aren't going to be for a while, Nvidia card prices should drop due to new r7 and r9 release.

The AX650 is more than enough for a 7970 and an overclocked processor, nothing to worry about there.

Completely agree with this comment. I built my rig in an hour and it took me 2 more hours doing the cable management until I was happy. Welcome to OCN mate and nice you've got planned.
