OK, I'm more than a little confuzzled here...

How are you even comparing getting $250 in games to a G80 or 6 Seagate Perp HDDs????

$250 will not get you more than two Seagates, and not even get you a chance to sniff the box a G80 came in.

What's the actual amount we're talking about here? Many of us can make some well informed suggestions, but it's difficult without a hard $$$ figure to work with.

If you can swing an 8800GTS or 8800GTX, you're gonna be happy with it. It IS new tech, so expect and don't be surprised with a few bugs, but in the end, even with DX10 off on the horizon for a while, you're going to get some of the best framerates and video quality available with a G80.

But looking at the specs you have posted for your rig, it won't be too well rounded... There's a few things that need a facelift on it, and depending on how often you can afford to shell out some greenbacks for hardware, you might be better served by distributing that cash you have now over a couple of seperate areas in your computer.

what areas do you think persay?

One other thing to consider is if your PSU can handle the strain a G80 will put on your system. You show an Enermax Liberty, but what size? Remember a G80 requires two seperate 6-pin 12v connectors, as well as the juice from the PCIe socket itself. A G80 might be more expensive to implement than you think at the moment....

HDDs, Sound Card, GPU, PSU (possibly), Speakers/Headset, Component Cooling (you don't state what you have ATM).

If I had 550 to spend, and I was upgrading the rig in your sig, I would do the following. First, sell the 7600 GT to make the available funds 650+. Then, purchase the following:

1 eVGA 8800 GTS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130071 ($400)

2 Seagate Barracudas 250 gig (Raid 0) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148142
($150)

1 Creative X-FI XtremeMusic http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102188
($92)

Those would be some nice upgrades, could get you away from onboard sound, give you some nice perpendicula RAID 0 action, and a screaming graphics card that can be overclocked to near GTX performance. I wouldnt upgrade your cooling, as the BT is still a great cooler.
