im back after four years but need a little help

Thread Starter
Well guys im nearly 34 years old in 24 oct lets just get it out there im a chronic
Battlefield fanboy all my pc parts are four years old from 2009 in 2011 BF3
came out but two my surprise everything at ultra on 1360 x 768p was 28fps
my I-7 920 2.66 at 3.7 and ATI 5850 CF and 10GB DDR3 i changed the
asus rampage 2 to the asus sabertooth and got rid of swifttec watercooling
because of leaking.

I have growing out of overclocking its just insanity and a pure waste of money
so just to get you to buy card after card just to get some ****ty score dont get
me wrong we all love to get the new fastest card the overclock it and our new
processor and maybe two in CF or SLI but this **** with dry ice putting CPUs
up to 5.4 destroying a 400-500 euro cpu then get another one or doing the
same with cards is just madness not that i was even that much into it.

The corsair 800d was a great case but a total sweat box if i play BF3 i have
to take the door off cause if i dont the PC will crash im glad i waited this
long to upgrade im gonna spend about 1500 euro i dont need a monitor
i have a 32 inch LG 720p and logitech G19 keyboard and gaming mouse
so i have my mind on what i want buy i have lost a little of my PC knowledge
what do you think i should get.

This is from 2009 the only things i changed is the motherboard
to the sabertooth and to the corsair A70.

Some people like to overclock as a hobby, some just do it for the performance gain, and some dont even bother. It can be a hassle sometimes, but if you like getting the most from your hw it might be worth it? Anyway, no pressure from anybody here to overclock your stuff. smile.gif

Personally i've never used it, but the 800D looks like a decent and not too tight case. Perhaps there wasn't adequate airflow to the components?
Cleaning dust on a monthly basis, reapplying thermal paste on the CPU every year or so could help bring done the temps a little too.

If you're spending 1500 euros you should be able to get some pretty decent hardware to play at 1080p.
Performance shouldn't be an issue playing at 1280x720 especially for a rig in that sort of budget anyway.
