Hi korrupted ! You mined on them ?
I'm hoping the liquid metal tim I used on one of my cards was the reason for some strange noises coming from the back end of that card ! Will find out next week when my rma psu comes back.
I generally always have the performance tab checked in cc.
What resolution monitors do u have ?

yeah I mined on them for months lol. ive never had any coil whine on them though. some 6950's I had in the past had a little coil whine on them & I just ran Kombuster for a few hours a day until it went. that's maybe why ive never had it on these 7990's they've been well & truly broke in.

it could be your PSU why you are having coil whine tbh. sometimes it is just the card though.

I always have the high performance thing checked too. but in some games if it starts stuttering after loading to a new level or something. I do what I said & it goes away.

im just on a single 24'' 1080p monitor. I don't like eyefinity really. too much of a headache. last time I had 3 screens on 1 rig was on gtx470's & it did my head in on some games rolleyes.gif

sort of like GTA4 does on these 7990's, I have to diable 4 way xfire to get my res/settings right everytime mad.gif

Interesting !

it could be your PSU why you are having coil whine tbh. sometimes it is just the card though.

Yep I think you are right as the cool whine started about the same time as my psu started to schitz out ! And LEDs my decorative ones started to flash too !

I always have the high performance thing checked too. but in some games if it starts stuttering after loading to a new level or something. I do what I said & it goes away.

Will try that on my next bf4 stutter mission !

I have never played gta4

just a note fro anyone that may want to copy my crystal link connections with the two gpus ! DON'T put TWO crystal links to the xspc water blocks like i did ! BIG mistake causes air lock ..............took me 3 days to figure out why my cards were over heating !

now one of my cards isd playing up =( aevery three seconds one card spikes to 100% usage then zero then 100% 3 seconds later 0% !!!>??? im thinking i may have damaged it mad.gif

I have a 7990 watercooled with swiftech/ek parts and it works brilliantly, i can't get it above 50c even with the fans at 40%.
Edit
my cards are ok it was a driver problem however ! The crystal link double tube is still a big no no ! My fault for wanting them to look super different.

Do you guys think its worth it to run more than a single 7990? You get good scaling in most games, such as Battlefield 4?

Would adding a 7970 instead be basically the same thing since most games only recognize 3 gpus?
