Retail are not going to have diagnostic ports, retail is going to have minor differences.
Just because you're a programmer/designer/team member DOES NOT mean you know EVERY aspect of the project. He even ADMITS he has only worked with the current dev kits.
I don't know if you are intentionally missing the point or not.
For most consoles the dev kit is just a PC box with various internals usually leading up a PC box with the console internals plus extra memory. In fact pretty much every dev kit ever is this.
For the xbone it's an xbone box with exact xbone hardware. And a diagnostic port on some
. Coming off the same product line. From an xbox execs mouth.
For the purposes of this thread. Discussing whether it's a dev kit doesn't actually make any difference as an xbone dev kit does the same thing as a retail unit. For our purposes they are the same thing.
Not sure why this wasn't totally clear.
And the reason for all this? So indie devs can convert their retail units and be able to develop on them for less cost. Again for the purpose of this thread they are the exact same thing.Edited by jtom320 - 10/6/13 at 8:53pm
