so ..im pretty anal about having my graphics settings just right.

And i like to try to acheive Ultra if i can at all do it.

I was getting some really gluggy game play on ULtra on my 3 ips monitors in eyefinity so i discided to go teh otehr direction.

I switched all setting to LOW and decreased that sampling slider to 75%

I would say i lost maybe 15% of my wonderrful eyecandy

HOWEVER

i am now getting solid 100FPS

can not wait for this game to be optimised ! thumb.gif

Battlefield 4 is CPU limited often. In 64 player with 4770k @4.6 i got ~3-5% of frames slower than 16.7ms (60fps mark) depending on where i was and the action etc

^720p with a some settings turned down

Bf4 prefers a 4930k to 4770k AFAIK. Quite a few games don't though, Haswell has better singlethreaded performance, but you'd get a performance advantage maybe like +20% on minimums here with the 6-core i think

Not much you can do mate, crank up the graphics to make sure you utilize your GPU's, if you're CPU limited then it won't cause your minimum framerates to drop

Also, sampling you should probably keep up. You're telling the game to render at 3/4 of the resolution, and then upscale it! Not the entire game, the UI is rendered cleanly, just the game "camera/window" is rendered at a lower resolution and then upscaled. If you don't >have< to lower this, you probably shouldn't (:

Hi Cyro ! How's it going ?
Well I'm thinking now if bf4 is cpu hungry perhaps I can increase performance by setting up a Raid. 0 array ? What do you think ?
Get so you play bf4 and 3 ? What your nic ? We should play !

Hey, goin good thumb.gif

I don't think it would help much if at all, raid is for almost entirely sequential read/write performance, and important game files >should< (hate some game engines..) be loaded into RAM on the load screens

I don't really play, just hit the beta's and had a quick look! Doesn't really seem to be my type of FPS unfortunately. I'd prefer solid high FPS and something like Quake or Tribes to open maps, poor performance due to simulating ultrarealism (even if it looks pretty nice, i don't like sunlight in my face blocking my view and enemies that blend into terrain very well) and near-instant death style gameplay

Might buy bf4 though

If you wanna add me in general, you can pm me a skype id or something wink.gif

Ah...I will not make raid0 then ! Too risky and time consuming if it goes wrong!
Some guys are saying windows 8 and set the cpu priorty to 0 to make the game use the gpus rather than the cpu. I will experiment tonight.
I have a watercooled 7990 that never gets over 42C I would live to overclock that big boy but have not found any guides on the subject that telos any positive results. Bit of a shame really.
