Quick question:

I currently have the sapphire vapor x 280x running with a 750watt 80 bronze certified Rosewill PSU, do you think i could crossfire in the future? i also have an i5 4670k at 4.2 at the moment. smile.gif

Anyone had any experience with the MSI 270x? Is it worth buying?

How well does the Matrix platinum Overclock compared to the DC top?? Can users post max stable OC results for comparison, also are the platinum's cherry picked or is it still luck of the lottery between the two chips?

750 watt is enough.

mine isn't even on 100% usage. itt's at about 80-90% usage. but even if there is a CPU bottleneck doesn't explain why my one gpu could be used 10% more than the other

Should I buy the HIS IceQ X² 280x or the ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5?

HIS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161441
ASUS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121803

The HIS has a 8+8 pin configuration and 9 phases.

The ASUS has a 6+8 pin configuration and 12 phases.

These are the two differences I'm concerned about. Which one will provide the most/best power for overclocking?

Thank you for your help smile.gif

Edit: Also, the ASUS has unlocked voltages, right? ASUS has a history of locking voltages. What is the max voltage in Trixx?

God , i m stuck at work and my toxic has arrived at the parcel relay near me , i cannot think about work anymore , hopefully i m mostly done for today biggrin.gif

my matrix hd 7970 can do 1280 mhz core 1850 mhz vram Max oc , but it can do that on the same voltage as 1100 and no amount of V will make it go further. even load line calibration or vrm freq change don't change anything to that.

Really desperately looking for a Benchmark/Evidence of anyone with CROSSFIRE R9 280X's that can confidently confirm all micro stutter issues are gone, and eyefinity is stable finally. Not too mention it seems like theres not a single review/benchmark of it that has tested it over eyefinity resolutions.

I plan on possibly grabbing two of these tomorrow but I gotta say.. the things around the net from the last 12months about Eyefinity/Xfire (I'll be doing both) are not filling me with confidence..... I want to believe otherwise.

have you evidence that SLI and mutli screen gaming has 0 issue on nvidia ? if you don't want any problem , buy one card and use one screen otherwise whatever the card or brand you are likely to have problems at some point .
personally my gtx 670 has never been able to handle a game and steaming on another screen without crashing after a while , it has never managed to run bf3 without crash. i had already stutter issues due to the boost clock mechanism on nvidia that is too complicated and partly broken with a single card. that was with one card , i can't tell you for sli because after all that i went straight for amd and i never had these kind of problem since.
i had similar issue with a 570 previously and i never plan to buy a nividia card again unless it's considerably cheaper then the equivalent amd.

No I don't but I know Surround has a much better reputation and I havn't had -many- issues with it from my point of view, I know nothing about Eyefinity on the other hand though.

Thus, I'm asking the AMD gurus if it's time I give AMD a shot after 5 years smile.gif... I just find nothing about Eyefinity+Crossfire+R9 280X setups on the net, and that's scary.

One GPU will not suffice for Eyefinity/Surround - In my budget anyway. R290X isn't even good enough to run Max BF4 Settings over 5760x1080 from everything I've read... and two R290X's is a very steep budget jump.
