Or wait for a 7950 to go for $180 after rebate around black Friday or cyber Monday. There's a high chance of it happening.

If you get a new 7950 for $180, you will have perhaps the best performance per dollar out there... far better than a 280x or even a 7970 that might go on sale for $250 after rebate.

I would make sure you get a card with a vrm heatsink though. The cheapest (usually powercolor) don't have that from what I've heard.

If you get a Hawk, Devil or Toxic 270x you will be looking at close to 7950 performance, maybe not out of the box but it would be very easy to get there with a very slight overclock. A few more bucks get's the 280x. The best bang for buck card is the 290 but unless you need a reference to put a waterblock on it I would wait a bit for the non-reference cars. They will be out soon.

Anyone play the new final fantasy a realm reborn with these graphics cards? With my 70 gtx it gets alot of stuttering in video playback on the first video and menu screen yet in game it seems to run ok. Looking at switching teams very soon, the 7950s have gone on a huge sale here , 269 for a xfx 7950

Or should I just save for another month or so and buy a r280x His 3gb

Any fixes for this ?

Problem solved i had the latest driver installed which has the CF Application profile intigrated + the standalone Application profile, after removing the standalone 1st Gpu stopped throttling and 2nd Gpu load went back to normal.

I'm about to pull the trigger on one of this cards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202045

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125475

can anyone tell me which one is quieter?, i read some reviews... some say the Gigabyte is loud, others that the Sapphire sounds like a jet, dunno which one to trust is always one or the other rolleyes.gif

Im close to buying a His r9 280x

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1559&products_id=25341

Unless a 7970/7950 is more so worth the dollar to perforamnce value, 7970 is $319, 280x $375 7950 $269.

What would ya reccomend people for final fantasy a realm reborn
