i think in it s price range the haf xm is a good case but for air cooling i would try to stretch the budget to a corsair air 540 or a silverstone raven/forteress

Hey guys,
If you had to choose between the MSI 280x gaming and the Asus 280x DCUII, which one would you choose?
From my local store, both are $239.
The MSI gaming only has a single DVI port, where as the Asus has 2.
The MSI gaming has 2 display ports, where as the Asus has 1.
I believe MSI has better customer service with RMA when compared to Asus (I hope this is never needed though).
But the Asus seems to be the more silent, better cooled unit according to reviews from Anandtech and Tomshardware.

I think I touched all the bases, but is there anything I'm missing between the two cards that could make one more desirable?
Silence is really important to me, but I had some might bad luck with Asus 7950 DCUII fans making a faint grind noise at low rpms.

Do you mean $339? If you can get those for $239 I would buy all of them I could get my hands on.

To answer the question which I forgot to do. Both of those cards have had good reviews, both overclock nicely and are relatively quiet so IMHO it would be 6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other. I think the DCII top looks the best and is supposed to have Asus' best Silocon but that's up to you.

I just got one Asus 280X TOP DCII smile.gif

Its as silent as my old Gigabyte 460GTX (Windforce).

For now the only negative aspect is that I had to get back to using screws on the expansion slots for this card, in the HAF 932 the plastic clips bump into the card "backplate" and I can't t close them. So screws it is... at least its better secured tongue.gif

There have been three posts about ASIC quality of the DC2T and none have been above 70%.
