I could buy and ship you a R9 280X Toxic if it's doable without expensive bill for both of us. Then again warranty support becomes a hassel, but if the prices in Australia are very expensive compared to my resident county, then it might not be a bad idea smile.gif

EDIT: Nope, Australia and my resident country has roughly same prices.

Any particular reason it has to be a Sapphire. HIS has one of the best solutions right now and the price isn't that bad.

Regarding the 270x - don't buy something that you don't want.

Right now there is a 83$ difference between a Matrix R9 280X and a reference R9 290 in my part of the world. If a aftermarket R9 290 is released, it will be $115 difference.
The R9 280X Toxic and R9 290 reference price difference is $106. Afermarket 290 should make the difference $138.

So bear in mind comparing a reference R9 290 with a aftermarket R9 280X is not right. The closest to a reference card R9 280X is a Dual X R9 280X.
Dual X R9 280X costs $180 less than a reference R9 290.
But i agree, the Matrix is expensive. But you gotta admit it looks like a beast biggrin.gif
In my country, matrix 280x is 340€ while sapphire 290 is 365€. But yeah reference and non-reference cards shouldn't be compared.

Btw checked those sites, price difference is minimal hmm

Hey everybody. Joined up the FX 8320/8350 club and since I got a R9 280x I'd like to post my findings here too.

Got my FX 8320 max stable from 3.5Ghz to 4.56Ghz with 8GB 1906Mhz memory
NOW
ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 Radeon R9 280X 3GB 384-bit for $309 on newegg.com

Give it great props on fan noise/overclockability/looks/heat. Comes with great software to up your voltages/fan profiles/GPU&Memory clock speeds.

Gonna start doing extreme testing with it today. Gonna reach that 90C mark smile.gif Right now I'm at stock 1.2v at 1140Mhz CPU clock and 6448Mhz Memory Clock. With FurMark stress test I get 80c after 15 minutes with fan at 70%.

QUESTION:
Can anybody recommend good stress test software that catches artifacts well or is FurMark it?

yeah bf4 or bf3 for games, and the second test of firestrike for bench.

furmark is totally useless for ocing or getting any real world information , all it does it is to max power your board and heat it up ,...

Got into problems quickly. Can't get reliable software. FurMark doesn't test for artifacts to well, where my card was deemed stable at 1200 GPU clock "which I know it isnt'" and the software OCCT I found in the HD7970 form, can't get it to work even on stock settings.
