So, have you tried one of the new R9 cards and had problems mounting it? Or just wondering? Dude, that case will fit 30 cards and a 3-foot long sub sammich so no worries. biggrin.gif

Lol no I have not tried to fit a new card to it, was just checking if the dimensions of cards would be an issue with the case before i purchase, either buying an xfx r9 280x or the sapphire toxxic r9 280x if they ever come in stock sometime this year

I really wanted to get the HIS branded r9 280x but was afraid it wouldnt fit, so you say that it will? The His is one of the most tallest of the r9 ranges

It'll fit. The only thing taller cards do is cover-up more downward space (other pci-e, pci slots, etc.) on your motherboard.

Ah downward space is not an issue as i only use the gpu slot.

Would a HIS be better than a gigabyte r9 280x/sapphire toxxic r9 280x, i love the backplate cover on the sapphire

I've had 2 HIS cards and liked them but I usually buy Asus or Gigabyte. No real reason just personal perference. Once I find brands I'm comfortable with I stick with them. The 280X Gigabyte can get loud but I believe there's a fan curve bios coming out, so it'll make it quieter. The Sapphire Toxic costs in upwards of $60 more (and consumes more powahhh if I'm not mistaken) so that's up to you.

I'm getting tired of the double or triple fan setups that just blow hot air around a case. AMD really needs to pull an Nvidia 780/Titan stock cooler design overhaul on their next-gen cards. I am praying for that!

I'm surprised to see Club3D cards on NewEgg. When did this start happening? I thought they were only sold in Europe?

The last asus card i had , 560gtx stopped working after 3 months, and i have a gigabyte 770gtx 2gb which just preforms horrible so they were two brands that I was trying to steer clear from, I have a 750w psu so I hope that should be good enough for either of the two cards, I do believe thou xfx still exhast air out the back of the cards. The Asus r9 280x are alot higher than the gigabyte versoin which seems to be very low profile

My new case is a Corsair 330R which has sound deadening material inside. I assume my cpu/gpu temps will be higher than a 'normal' case but I don't monitor them. I know I know redface.gif I should be like everyone else does on here but things like that just don't interest me anymore.

It gets louder than what I would like. However, compared to having it in my previous Lian-Li PC-A71F case, the card is definitely more bearable.
