On Amazon the price between a Toxic 280X and a REF R9 290 is around $25. BUT where i live the Toxic is $73 cheaper.
However, i might just get a REF 290 if good sale comes smile.gif

everywhere in aus does not have a toxic 280x, would it be worth waiting for that card or just spend the extra 30 bucks on a sapphire r9 290?

I'd wait for non reference 290s to be released within mid December, unless you want to deal with noise.

So, I've ran 1 Gigabyte R9 280X in Furmark at 15min preset. Everything went just fine.

Now, I Crossfired them and right after 2 or so minutes my PC went down. Then it restarted. Looks like I don't have enough power here?
Using Cougar A760 760W. That's kinda strange, that amount of power should be more than enough.

Please advise!

Seems to be enough power to run both cards, maybe OCP triggered the shutdown?
I did some googling and some are saying 850W is recommended where as 750W is the minimum...

Keep in mind CPU overclocks also effects power consumption if you are overclocked.

so i just update 280x ready on distro in my place, MSI gaming, Gigabyte, & Powercolor. the cheapest is powercolor with only $306, gigabyte $389, and MSI gaming $383.

i've search this thread and not find any single powercolor card mentioned, looked on youtube and only linus from ncix preview it. so nobody using powercolor? and between MSI and giga, witch is better to choose? i read giga is locked voltage in the back2 page of this thread.
