Going to hopefully chalk that up to immature drivers I guess(even though the card is closing in on 2 years old now).

Ah ok an fx 6300, I am kinda hoping that's whats holding you back, as 30 fps is really bad for the entry enthusiast gpu market i.e the 770/280x.

guess nobody noticed the 4x SSAA he's using... he'd probably have around 60 without it

Does gigabyte 280x have also locked voltage like the 7970 rev 2.0 and 2.1 models?

Hey guys,

Did anybody got their hands on the Sapphire Toxic 280x ?
I want to pick this up but im worried abit about the excessive power drain on it.
I have contacted Sapphire Customer Support and told them my ring (in my sig) and they said i would need a 750W-800W PSU to run and oc this card + the proc.
So i am interested to see how people run this card so i know for sure if i can use it before i buy it.

the xfx cooler on the r9 280x is a completely new design. most reviews show this cooler has the lowest temps at around 60c. the fan profile is a bit too aggressive and so a bit loud. xfx can actually go for a less aggressive fan profile or the user can reduce the fan speed using a custom fan profile.

the xfx design is called Ghost 2.0 and the card is very good looking as well as cools very well.

Hi,
have the same problem, but with my hd6950.
As I understand it something to do with OC tool(msi afterburner and so on)

short term solution: change your resolution to lower one, and then change it back to normal, should fix the flickering(for me)
long term solution: have no idea smile.gif

What is the VDDC voltage on this gpu?

from searching around a lot of people refers to it as the gpu voltage but that is another setting.
