My setting mostly stays at 45% and around 75 °C which is much quieter. Sadly I can't read the VRM's temps so I don't exactly know how they perform with my custom setting.
The cooler is exactly the same design, only the black part around the fans was a cosmetic change to match the entire line of gigabyte cards I guess. It is made of plastic though, no metal like on Nvidia cards.

Imho the best card around is the Asus one. Sadly it is not available as BF4 edition, neither is HIS (which I find 2nd best card).

By the way, is the MSI card still suffering from overheat VRM or much too loud fans?

the problem exist on default BIOS, MSI provide update bios on techpowerup and after update the heat is gone and even @ 100% i don't think its loud... maybe because my case fan already loud (aerocool shark 14cm x 2) ^^

perhaps you want to try MSI instead? they go with BF4 bundle with the same price. but for the look still toxic and devil are truly beast ^^

Already have BF4 and Premium so dont need it. Looking for something that i can push a lot of voltage through and exceed 1300 core. The Hawk is probably the best card to go with thanks to the triple overvoltage but the devil and toxic look sweet

Does Asus/MSI/Sapphire are voltage locked too ?
Plus i heard MSI is having VRM problems on 280X gaming cards , is it true ?

Any kind of information will be highly appreciated.
XFX, Sapphire Toxic, Asus has unlocked voltage and HIS has unlocked voltages too. Not sure about MSI anymore. I have heard it does not have anymore voltage control. I think best cards are atm all Asus, all HIS and Sapphire Toxic. You have blenty of choices thumb.gif

Hawk has unlocked voltages and is probably the only one you can adjust memory voltage on

I thought the Toxic was voltage locked. http://www.overclock.net/t/1433990/which-r9-280x-should-i-get/0_100#post_20980986 Isn't the point of the Toxic that ootb it's as high performance as this chip can go?

Sapphire toxic card has CHIL's voltage controller same as Asus and HIS. I would say almost every card that has good cooler and unlocked voltage can go high as sapphire toxic or even higher if you are lucky.

@Miiksu

Can you confirm with gpu-z that you are getting that voltage when you set it to 1381mv?

With vdroop under heavy load the voltage may be more like 1.3v, but its still better than the DC2T I have now.

If so, I might return my DC2T and get a HIS... if I can ever get my hands on one rolleyes.gif

So, is it possible to bypass voltage lock by flashing edited BIOS (with the voltage set)?
