Isn't flickering caused when OC'ing with ULPS on? Doesn't disabling ULPS take care of that? Or is that just with crossfire?

You'll have to excuse me if I'm wrong last card for me on the red side was just after AMD bought ATI. tongue.gif

Guys, 280X Vapor X or 7970 Lightning Boost ? Price is the same.

Looks like a no brainer to me (MSI), which one is louder ?

Edit: Oh god, price for the vapor x went down from 280 euros to 260, now what ?

which country are you from ? 260 euros for msi hd 7970 lightning boost is very good. 1150 mhz out of the box. very high quality custom PCB. good cooler and unlocked voltage. the sapphire vapor-x is no match and the cooler is loud after 50% fan speed which is required when overclocking.

the asus r9 280x is the pick of the r9 280x cards. easily the quietest r9 280x card. fantastic cooler and high quality custom PCB. go for it. thumb.gif

Ran a few tests with it at out of the box clocks but the screenshots are at home.

Italy. Sadly the 7970 went out of stock (i can still buy it from germany but its risky). I knew it. It was 282 euros btw.

I guess i will wait a week until all online shops get their cards and pick an Asus, or a Toxic if its priced reasonably.

Here are some of the pics I have so far. I put it side by side with the Asus 7850 for size comparison. I ran 3dMark11 and 3dMark(firestrike, etc). At 99% load and fan on auto the fan got to 31% and the GPU temp was 70 C. I got lots of work with it to do and it will be so much fun. thumb.gif

I got the slots for it. The Sabertooth can fit two of them if someone wanted to because of the slot spacing. thumb.gif
