I ran Valley at the same setting as the 270x guys who posted their scores just because I was curious about the performance difference, here is what I got:

ULPS takes the card to 300mhz core and 150mhz mem. 975 is something else.

good point i forgot about the ccc. most def check on that cause that is the default controler for the gpu's. its just strange that after a driver update the afterburner is acting like it is. something else has to be controling the gpus. hmmmmmm???????

My case is rated for 11.2 inches (size of this card) and they were right. Perfect fit. Any longer and I would have been in trouble.

It's time to game.

congrats on the new new, those asus gpus look awsome!!!

So I have a Sapphire toxic 280x, and with the recent craze it's going to be impossible for me to get my hands on a reasonably priced 280x for a while, and i wanted to crossfire toxics... since that's no longer really a viable plan, should i just sell mine and buy a gtx 780 (469 for the msi one)? Also the toxic is a bit loud, despite being inside a corsair 550D (which isn't as sound proofed as i had hoped...)

this is truly one of those judgment calls on what you realy want and like. the 780 is no doubt a great gpu but the prices of these cards will fall again. once we get past the holidays and the mining craze and more stock is available they will go back down to normal. on the other side is this you have the upcoming mantel, and hopefuly soon directx 11.2. mantel along going by from what all i have read will be a true game changer and so far there are more and more companys going to using mantel along with all the other coding deals. so the real questions here are one how inpatient are you? and 2 are you wanting to be future proof as far as upcoming software? i would stick with the toxic thats a beast of a gpu. as far as it being loud heapones, lol.. works for me. once the prices drop youll be able to cop up another toxic throw them in crossfire and destroy a 780 all day long. last time i checked to sli two 780's its still a pretty good mint and those prices arent going to come down anytime soon in true nvidia fasion.... so in my opion i would wait cause the value on that gpu being a toxic wont loose its value even if you have to sell it on ebay. thumb.gif

but if you realy get to the point you want to sell it let me know i have a coworker who is looking for that gpu and is waiting for the price to drop and be available. pm me if its what you want to do.

Thanks for the link however, the Gigabyte in the review is using the Rev 1.0 cooler. I'm not 100% sure what improvements Rev 2.0 brings but upon Googling I can only find reviews for it on a 780.

I would happily lean towards the Asus however, the place I was looking at wont get stock for a while frown.gif

hi there the msi are throwing down very nicely my buddy has two in crossfire, im running the gigayte 280x's in crossfire, there the rev 1 you can say i guess but there pretty much the same card just a new shrowed over the gpu and fans, still the tripple fan setup, but so far mines are very quiet under load and dont brake a sweat. so the real thing here is you can not go wrong with either brand. side by side between his msi's and my gigabyte's there is not much differnece in heat or fps, but my windforces are quieter. as i said before i hear my case fans more than my gpu fans even with the panel off. performance wise though you cant miss with either one. it comes down to looks and your style. the gigabyts arent exactly eye apealing. there very bland in looks to me very straight foward gpu, fan, plastic go.. the msi's have more style and a more agressive look to them wich i do like.

you cant go wrong with either gpu brand...

I think you score very good, did you change something in driver or inside the benchmarks settings? This is what I can pull off with my gigabyte card @1130/1650: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37488657/Unigine_Valley_Benchmark_1.0_20131214_1231.html

I just set the CCC to Performance and surface optimization to OFF then in Asus GPU Tweak gave it 1.3v and OC the hell out of the card smile.gif
