My DC2T doesn't. I would say most do not. I question how hard people run their cards at those clocks. If they have v-sync on then it doesn't count. BF4 on ultra at 120% scaling reveals all weaknesses... it's often sustained 100% load.

Any XFX 280x black edition users here? How are the vrm temps? Xfx has had problems with this in the past so I wonder if they actually put a heat sink on the vrms this time.

I'm finding Far Cry 3 to be unforgiving of overclocks on my Vapor X. Clocks that remain stable thru unigine, 3dmark, other games, will cause FC3 to lock up. Even mild overclocks.

I only did it for the bench with that run just to see how high of a score I could get, but yes...I've played with the on-board voltage buttons AND in GPU Tweak as well. The highest absolutely stable clock I can get that works with everything is 1220/1750 no matter what I do. Sure it will play some games at 1240-1250mhz core (like Battlefield 4 for example), but if I throw a REALLY graphically intensive game like Witcher 2 at it it starts artifacting within 5 minutes if I go any higher. It also cannot pass repeated runs of Heaven higher than 1230mhz without showing artifacts around the 2 run. I've thrown 1.28 volts/1260mhz and higher occasionally at it but at those volts if it gets any hotter than 63 deg it starts showing instability really quickly. I've got one of those low ASIC cards (67%), and the card just screams to be water cooled. With better cooling this card in particular could probably top out around 1280 core methinks...

I also HAD a DC2t, but I sent it back because it was pretty weak. It topped out at 1150/1700 at 1.26 volts, and anytime I tried to take it higher it just couldn't hang. Also considering I'm running crossfire, I wanted a top card that could at least clock similarly to my Matrix so I returned the DC2 and exchanged it for a Toxic. The Toxic turned out to just be a bad card, and would literally artifact in windows and show some nasty screen flickering shortly after booting the computer, so heat/voltage wasn't the issue. 4 different driver sets with clean installs didn't help either, and my setup never had the issue with the Matrix or the DC2 so the Toxic had to go back. I'm waiting on a replacement Toxic right now...but if I can't get this crossfire setup to my liking then I'm strongly considering selling them both and going with a single 780 ti. Getting crossfire to work perfectly, let alone reasonably well, has been an exercise in frustration to say the least...

lol Devildog you updated my OC.

My 270X can pass Valley and Heaven at 1300mhz but that's about it wink.gif It crashes in games instantly. I can do 1280mhz and pass 3dmark11 (sometimes), 3dmark Vantage and 3dmark06 but it locks up in Firestrike. It's unfortunate because even at 1300mhz it never passes 55C in Valley. If someone would release a modded Trixx 4.6.3 or higher, I could give the card more than 1.3v and it would probably stabilize at 1300mhz, with much more heat. The newer Beta Trixx is the only one that supports this card, older versions don't read the clocks or voltage control correctly. So I can't use the modded Trixx 4.4.0 with memory voltage control.

The highest stable OC I can run is 1250mhz. I'll get lockups and random reboots after gaming for a while at anything higher. Firestrike will freeze up randomly at anything higher. This is with voltage at 1.3v of course. If only I could give it more...

I would not be too disappointed, 1250 is still a very high clock for a 270x, I don't know anyone else who can take there 270x there a actually be stable. I have had mine as high as 1310/1552 but it ain't stable. By itself I can run my 7870 at 1250/1450 all day in games and bench's and I think that is high. If you can get that close to 1300 try clocking the memory down to 1400 and see if that works.

EDIT: 1310/1552 was the 7870 not the 270x. The 270x Devil max stable overclock is 1225/1575.

I see, I'll have to give it a try. I really think it just needs a little more voltage than 1.3v to be stable at higher clocks though.

What brand of card are you waiting on shipping for btw? You sent the Powercolor Devil back right?

sup guys, i got my new Asus R9 280x DCU2 Top...

And at moment is the second best investment in my PC......
For now I'll keep the processor and video card in stock till after the summer heat (here in Brazil) and fezendo some tests to see if anything stressful with this problem.... Eventually I hope to be doing a CrossFireX Overclocking and clear with 70% increase in the performance of the Video Cards tongue.gif
I've been watching the forum before getting my Video Card tongue.gif
