Hi, I'm Brazilian.
I bought an ASUS V2 R9 280x DC2T exactly this model https://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/R9280XDC2T3GD5V2/
I have the VGA in stock when running Heaven temp is 78 º C, with an ambient temperature 30 º C, is this normal?
Searching the internet I found another User with problems: http://forums.hexus.net/help-quick-relief-tech-headaches/304401-r9-280x-high-temps.html
Sorry for my bad english.tongue.gif

I don't think 78c is horrible if you are just using auto for the fans , I have been to 80c on my top card under Valley. I always run my fans at 80% plus when benching because that's when you will get the most heat. I would make a user profile the ramps the fans up when you get to 70c so the card will stay cooler.

I had the day off so finally got around to getting my 24/7 clocks set, 1200/1666 smile.gif

@[CyGnus] I was experiencing some "flickering" similar to what F3ERS 2 ASH3S describes except at random, i just noticed it a few times in windows but no issues in games, that was with 9.5 BETA though.

I switched to 13.12 just a few days ago and I haven't experienced anything abnormal in windows or in games so far.

Not sure if it's the 13.12 drivers or my card, but I seem to get some artifacts in League of Legends. This is the only game I get artifacts and its not during an entire match but I randomly get a green/purple flash in random areas of my screen for split seconds.

Hey peoples, due to the issues I was having with Crossfire, I decided to sell my remaining R9 280x (Matrix Platinum) and go in a different direction. The Crossfire setup I was running with the Matrix and Sapphire Toxic was just throwing off way too much heat, and even with a full pci slot between cards, 4 200mm fans and 5 140mm fans circulating air around my case, they just weren't enough to keep the cards cool after more than a few minutes of heavy gaming.

I originally had an Asus DC2T in my crossfire setup but it couldn't clock any higher than 1150mhz without artifacting badly, and the Toxic could only hit 1200mhz. The Matrix on the other hand could hit 1240mhz semi reliably but I just wasn't satisfied with the performance I was getting out of the setup. I also was having driver issues seemingly constantly, and the Xstar monitor I have is capable of 110hz but the stupid drivers would cause issues with flash, videos, and basically anything other than games for some reason when the monitor was overclocked. No set of drivers I tried (and I tried the last 5 or 6 betas AND the WHQL set) seemed to help with my setup.

I really didn't want to get rid of the cards, but Newegg screwed me when I attempted to return and exchange my Toxic, so they refunded me my money and claimed not to have any cards in stock for exchange. Frustratingly so, less than 12 hours later they had cards in stock but marked them up to $469 and expected me to pay the new amount when I originally got it for $341. Since the miners have inflated AMD prices so badly, I took my money and got 2 Lightning 780's instead, and the experience has been quite a bit smoother so far. The best part is, each card was only $499 brand new smile.gif

Here's the old setup vs. new...

The scores with the old setup were with both 280x's overclocked as high as I could run them (both at 1200/1700mhz), and the 780's are NOT overclocked at all and still running out of the box specs...

Started with this...

Stepped up to this...

Now we here...

In my opinion I feel that two 280x's is a great value....AT MSRP lol. Notice the Valley scores, the 280's actually have a significantly higher minimum framerate than the 780's, and the max is just 2 fps lower. It's just the average fps where the 780's open up a lead, but other than that the 280x's performed fantastically (when they worked). I will miss them dearly as they represented my first attempt at running multiple gpu's and this is the first rig I've ever built thumb.gif
